GigScout is a Telegram bot service that delivers real hiring posts from LinkedIn and X to freelancers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. What we collect
When you use GigScout, we collect:
Telegram chat ID — the unique identifier Telegram assigns to your account. We use this to send alerts to the right person.
Your service description and niche — what you told the bot you do, so it can filter alerts to your field.
Your search keywords — the terms the bot generated (or you approved) for scanning LinkedIn and X.
Country preference — to filter out jobs you are not eligible for.
Payment confirmation data — we receive a transaction reference from Paystack to verify your payment. We do not store your card number, bank details or any raw payment instrument.
Access dates — when your 30-day window starts and ends, so alerts can be switched on and off at the right time.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or any other personal identifier. We do not ask for them and we do not receive them from Telegram.
2. How we use your data
To send you alerts matched to your field and country, on the Telegram account you used to set up the service.
To verify your payment was genuine and apply your 30-day access window.
To send you a renewal reminder when your window expires.
To improve the alert quality over time (aggregate, non-identifying signals only).
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except the services named below that are required to run the product.
3. Third-party services
Telegram — the platform your alerts are delivered on. Telegram's own privacy policy governs what Telegram collects when you use their app.
Paystack — processes your payment. Paystack's privacy policy governs the payment data they handle. We only receive a transaction reference, the amount, and the payment timestamp.
Apify — scrapes LinkedIn and X for posts. No subscriber data is shared with Apify. Only the search keywords are used as scraping queries.
OpenAI — the AI model that scores and summarises posts before they reach you. Posts are sent as plain text with no subscriber identifiers attached.
Meta, TikTok and X — advertising pixels on this website only. They see that a browser visited a page; they never receive anything from the bot or your subscriber record. See section 6.
4. Data retention
We retain your Telegram chat ID, niche, keywords and access dates for as long as you are a GigScout subscriber. If you stop paying and do not renew within 90 days, your record is deleted from our database. You can also request deletion at any time by contacting us.
5. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
Tell you what data we hold about your Telegram account.
Correct your niche, keywords or country (just message the bot).
Delete your record entirely.
To exercise these rights, message us on WhatsApp at 0808 086 9199 or send /help in the GigScout Telegram chat.
6. Cookies and tracking
The sales page (gigscout.online) uses advertising pixels so we can measure whether our ads reach people who actually want this product. These run on every page of this site:
Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram ads) — records that a browser visited the page, and whether it reached the confirmation page after subscribing. Meta's own privacy policy governs what Meta does with that signal.
TikTok Pixel (TikTok ads) — the same, for ads shown on TikTok. TikTok's own privacy policy governs their side.
X Pixel (ads on X, formerly Twitter) — the same, for ads shown on X. X's own privacy policy governs their side.
All three set cookies in your browser and share a page-visit event with the platform that placed the ad. None of them receives your name, email address or payment details, because this site never collects them — see section 1. They tell us how many people arrived and how many subscribed, not who you are.
You can block them with any standard ad or tracking blocker, or through your browser's privacy settings. Blocking them does not affect the product: subscribing, the Telegram bot and your alerts all work exactly the same either way.
If you have purchased a subscription, the Paystack checkout page is governed by Paystack's own cookie policy.
7. Security
Subscriber records are stored in a SQLite database on a private server. The server is not publicly accessible. Payment verification uses Paystack's HTTPS API. We never store or log raw payment credentials.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we will post an updated version here and note the date. Continuing to use GigScout after a policy update means you accept the new terms.
9. Contact
